CPR Fabrication and Engineering recently partnered on a major rebuild program for a fleet of CAT 789D Off Highway Trucks. Our scope included the design and manufacture of a complete set of components including fenders, top decks, handrails, cabin walkways, and more. Backed by our experienced team and in house capabilities, we delivered a robust and cost effective solution that met both timeline and quality requirements.
CAT Off Highway Trucks operate in harsh mining environments where components are exposed to constant vibration, heavy impacts, mud build up, and breakdown of protective coatings. Over time, this leads to corrosion, compromised structural integrity, and safety risks for both the machine and the personnel working on and around it. Addressing these issues early is critical to extending asset life and maintaining operational safety.
Under a tight 14 day deadline, CPR was tasked with assessing, designing, fabricating, and finishing multiple components. We began with an onsite inspection to evaluate the existing condition, identifying which items could be refurbished and which needed replacement.
Our drafting team then developed precise designs tailored to the fleet’s requirements. Using our in house CNC cutting, pressing equipment, and advanced welding equipment, the fabrication team delivered every component to site specifications. Each unit was finished with powder coating, non slip surfacing, and protective treatments to ensure durability, safety, and long term performance in mining conditions.
The result: a complete, high quality module delivered on time and on budget.
